List: Famous Living Dinner

10:17 PM Posted In , Edit This 3 Comments »
Ok, so it's List Wednesday. Yes, I'm watching Law & Order and LOVING Detective Lupo. No, I'm not doing the homework I should be. So, the topic of this weeks list is this: if I could throw a dinner party for 10 living people, who would they be?

1. Will Farrell - he would keep the party HILARIOUS
2. Paul McCartney - because who doesn't love the Beatles?
3. Martha Stewart - she would be cooking, obviously
4 - 6. The Jonas Brothers - I really do love them
7. John Krasinski - but I would pretend he was his character from the Office, Jim Halpert, and insist on calling him "Big Tuna" the entire time
8. Karl Lagerfeld - genius, plus he adds international flair
9. Jerry Seinfeld - always entertaining, and I feel like it would be interesting to see him and Farrell play off each other
10. Me besties - of course GreggoryAnn would need to be there for Jonas, and I think Jamz/Chlez/Alan would enjoy it as well

List: Earth Day 2009

Happy Earth Day to all ye fools and ghouls. Today is a day for respecting the Earth and doing good by Mother Nature. Also, happy list Wednesday! The theme of this week's list is all about Earth Day. How did y'all spend your Day o' Earth? Hopefully you did something constructive, I need someone to balance out my non-constructive day...

Things I Thought About Doing But Ultimately Decided Against:
- Hugging a tree
- Unplugging all the electronics I wasn't currently using
- Skipping school so I wouldn't emit carbon from my car exhaust into the air from the drive
- Planting flora
- Doing yard work
- Using the bare minimum of electricity required to go about my day

Things I Actually Did:
- Unplugged my hair dryer
- Turned off all the downstairs lights before I went to school
- Trampled on some lilies non-native to Oregon
- Watched someone destroy a robin's egg from a fallen nest and was thoroughly grossed out
- Drove to and from school, 30 min both ways
- Left the cable box on all night long
- Wore a geology-themed t-shirt because it was the "earthiest" thing I own
- Bought a plastic bottle of water
- Fed my cat
- Cursed the weather

Word up. This is List Wednesday and I know you love it. So, inspired by the Chlez, I have decided to list my foods that I find grosser than gross. Now, keep in mind, I'm listing foods that I've actually tried, so things like monkey brains will not be included. I'm pretty sure y'all should keep this list in mind if you ever plan on making me food. So here you go...ladies.

20. Pears
19. Cheese pizza
18. Kool-Aid (any flavor)
17. Yogurt with fruit in it (unless it's fresh fruit, otherwise it's slimy)
16. Raisins
15. Ham
14. Corndogs
13. Jello/Jello salad (again, slimy is a problem)
12. Hard-boiled egg yolk
11. Mushrooms
10. Cauliflower
9. Canned peas/black eyes peas
8. Milk (i can't even smell it)
7. Applesauce (the texture is icky)
6. Fake melted cheese (like the kind they put on nachos)
5. Pumpkin pie
4. Black licorice

Tired sort of day. I have a lot of work to do, but instead I am watching interweb videos and Law&Order. Thought I'd share one of my favorite online videos with errbody. It's quite possibly the best and most improbable collaboration ever. So ace.

List: Current Reads 4/8

Tis Wednesday, and you know what that means, ladies. IT MEANS IT'S TIME FOR A LIST. So, this week it's all about books. I am taking a class this term called Adaptation: Literature to Film, and we just finished reading/watching To Kill a Mockingbird. Now, I used to HATE the book, but now that I've re-read it, I appreciate it a lot more, even though the movie is still a million times better. Anyway, the list this week is of books I'm currently reading. Enjoysers.

1. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (taking me forever to get through)
2. Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraser (I'm only a chapter into it and I already hate it)
3. My Custom Van by Michael Ian Black (nearly finished with it, and it's really funny)
4. The White Book by Ken Mansfield (surprisingly boring, even if it is about the Beatles)
5. The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe (also a very, very long time to get through)
6. Scarlett by Alexandra Ripley (hilariously bad, Margaret Mitchell is rolling in her grave)
7. A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean (the next book for my Adaptation class)

So there you go, all the books I'm currently reading. However, this is subject to change at any moment, as I am constantly starting new books. Oh, and on a completely unrelated note, please watch Jake & Amir videos, they are the highlight of my week.

This movie looks incredibly offensive and hilarious.

List: April 2009

Ok, so I realize it's Thursday and I still haven't made a list this week, so I threw one together. And, because it's a new month, I thought I would share all the things I'm looking forward to this April!

- New movies: Observe and Report (because I love Seth Rogen), 17 Again, Julie & Julia (about Julia Child and starring Meryl Streep, sounds amazing)
- Harper's Island (a new TV series that is based on Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None". Looks amazingly scary and delightful)
- Parks And Recreation (another new series, by the makers of The Office. I don't know if I'm necessarily "excited", but definitely curious)
- Easter (my family celebrates, we buy gifts, there is a lot of candy involved, and I get to wear a pretty dress that my Nana bought for me. I may post a pic of the dress, because it is really cute)
- Warmer weather = cuter clothes, less horrid walks to class, golf!
- Joel McHale at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
- April has one less day than March, and I also hate March and I'm glad it's finally over
